The Mini Cooper Hardtop, known for its quirky charm, is the most iconic model from the British brand. In 2025, the fifth generation of this two-door hatchback will be introduced, showcasing a new design that combines modern elements with the car's classic shape. The company has also shared information about the electric version of the Mini Cooper, boasting an impressive 215 horsepower and an estimated range of approximately 200 miles. The Mini Cooper Hardtop is set to hit the U.S. market in two versions: a base model and a sportier S variant. Both will come equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. While power figures have been disclosed for the Mini Cooper S hatchback, boasting 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, representing a 12 and 14 increase, respectively, from the previous model. Car and Driver contacted a Mini representative to inquire about power specifications for the non-S model. The spokesperson mentioned that the details will not be disclosed until later in the year. Given that the turbocharged three-cylinder engine will no longer be available in the U.S. market, it is reasonable to expect that the new standard turbo four will surpass the 134 horsepower output of the previous base engine. Additionally, there will be a new 154-horsepower turbo three engine offered on the Mini Cooper C in international markets. Keep this in mind as a reference point.
